Jimmy Page - Death Wish II (The Original Soundtrack) download mp3

Death Wish II is a soundtrack album by Jimmy Page, released by Swan Song Records on 15 February 1982, to accompany the film Death Wish II. Following the XYZ project, Page was asked by his London neighbour, movie director Michael Winner, to record a soundtrack for the film Death Wish II in late August 1981. Page was given a deadline of a few weeks to write and record the album at his personal studio The Sol and to travel on location to Los Angeles with Winner for songwriting themes.

Simply put his is the best Jimmy page solo work he has ever done. While I have burned out on Led Zeppelin long ago I find the music in this soundtrack to have enough substance to sound relevant decades later. Page has an amazing knack for playing melodies that feel contemporary while being just complex enough to not be boring but not so much as to be eccentric. A year had passed since the last days of Zeppelin when Jimmy Page retreated to his own Sol Studios to record music for Death Wish II. At the end of 1981, Jimmy was still trying to come to terms to what had happened to his beloved group following the tragic end of his friend John Bonham. He had begun the year playing with Chris Squire and Alan White of Yes in an ill-fated project called XYZ - eX-Yes-Zeppelin.
Guitarist Jimmy Page would be the first to release new material, though not in the fleeting 1981 XYZ supergroup with Yes members Chris Squire and Alan White (which never released an album), but in a last-minute soundtrack composition for Death Wish II, which was released Feb. 15, 1982
For one thing, it was the first album that Jimmy Page recorded and released after the breakup of Led Zeppelin, and the album serves as a fascinating transition from Zeppelin's final studio release, In Through the out Door, to the work Page would do with his ill-fated supergroup the Firm. Page also delivers three fully composed rock songs, "Who's.
