What's this for a ceremony, hanging around? We got to get down, rock it off on this shaky ground Come on and spit it out your hearty-party moon everywhere Let's see you people laugh at people punchin' out in the air. Get down to the hiphop be-bop-a-lula You get a sound that is all coming to ya I wanna get ya, I wanna teach ya I'm gonna get this beat to hit ya! Get down to big time illusion like all the rest Come on and toughly jumpin', fuck that feeling, give all your best.

That "oooh yeah" sample also appears on the Trendy Mix of House 2 House's Everybody Get Up on Strictly Rhythm. Where is the original sample from?
  • Hasirri
I believe all samples are mentioned in the mr notes: Bassheads - Is There Anybody Out There?
  • Keath
@Groovah Snap! Good find, thanks! Are you sure this is actual original? It certainly sounds like...

The "Ooooohh yeah" vocal sample has been taken from this....https://www.discogs.com/Ruffneck-Featuring-Cheri-Williams-The-Power-The-Rhythm/release/173825

From the first notes of the deep dark string intro and bubbling acid riff you can sense this is something special. Then the bass-line drops which as soon as people use to hear it got everyone going instantly, the track just builds and builds with the guitar loop (Pink Floyd sample), vocal samples (Africa Bambaataa), acid rift, piano, all phasing in and out of the track building all the way through to cause maximum dance floor madness, its really cleverly constructed. One of the big tunes of its day and listening it today you can still see why.

First heard this at rickys in leeds blew the place apart what a track asked the dj what it was turned out it was a test press no markings.... WAS GUTTED!!!

Always loved this tune, everything about it from the start through to the build up & subsequent piano, the samples of Afrika Bambatta & the cheeky samples on the original promo. Anyway if you weren't about in the early 90's you missed a treat. In 1998 we went down to Cream in Liverpool and got in there pretty early about 9/9.30PM. Idiots were causing trouble and the bouncer were ejecting people left, right and centre... Bad vibes throughout. Anyway Paul Bleasdale put this on about 10pm and the atmosphere changed by the time the piano kicked in, everyone was smiling, punching the air and going mental....Totally changed the night!!! Another fond memory after the original one's back in the day!!! House classic's don't come much bigger than this!!!

Awesome, all time classic. Builds up from a slow, moody number into something that blows the walls down every time. Great sample from Afrikaa Bamabata's Just get up and Dance. And a guitar riff from The Osmonds no less! Genius.
